🚴‍♂️ Taking on Britain’s Greatest & Toughest Bicycle Race – LEL 2025 🚴‍♂️

In Loving Memory of Marcus Brown & In Support of Weston Hospicecare.

On Sunday, 3rd August 2025, I will be taking on Britain’s Greatest & Toughest Bicycle Race – the London-Edinburgh-London (LEL) 2025. This gruelling 1,540km ride from London to Edinburgh and back must be completed in under 125 hours, averaging over 200 miles per day, with 21 checkpoints along the way.

This challenge is incredibly personal to me, as I am riding in loving memory of Marcus Brown—a dear lifetime friend and one of life’s most loveable people. Marcus was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and an inspiring member of our community in Weston-super-Mare and beyond. His passion for Barbering, Sport and his commitment to youth football teams left an unforgettable mark on many lives.

In 2024, we heartbreakingly lost Marcus after his brave battle with cancer. Throughout his journey, Weston Hospicecare provided invaluable support to him and his family, offering comfort, care, and compassion in the most difficult of times. Their work does not stop there—they continue to support Marcus' wife Trudy and family as they navigate life without him.

🔥 The Challenge Ahead

I am honoured to share this brutal endurance ride with Karl Somers, another Weston-super-Mare cyclist and endurance rider Joss Ridley (Orange Socks). With over 2,500 cyclists taking part in the event, many will have their own reasons to try and complete this epic challenge, our progress will be digitally trackable online as we push through over 15 hours of cycling per day on our way to Scotland and back.

Weston Hospicecare only receives a small amount of government funding, meaning every pound raised truly counts in helping them continue their vital care for families in need. This will be my 8th fundraiser for Weston Hospicecare, following previous challenges such as:

✔ Running 7 Marathons in 7 Days

✔ The Race Across Europe

✔ The 3 Peaks Cycle Challenge

But this one is different. This one is for Marcus.
