Story
Liberty's last wish following her terminal diagnosis was to raise money for research into Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Help us continue her Legacy.
Following the half marathon I ran for Sarcoma last year, IM NOW ATTEMPTING TO RUN THE LONDON MARATHON 2024 (well I’m going to give it my best shot …) I will be running for the charity Liberty’s Legacy. Liberty’s Legacy has been a special fund of the Bone Cancer Research Trust since February 2018, following the devastating loss of Liberty, in October 2017 to Ewing Sarcoma, just 2 weeks after her 14th birthday. It was Liberty’s greatest wish that we continue to fundraise in her name (she didn’t want to be forgotten) and to find a cure for this brutal disease. All money raised, in line with her wishes, is ring fenced specifically for use for Ewing Sarcoma. Two of my best friends ( Meg & Beth) lost their little sister Eve to a rare form of cancer called Ewing Sarcoma at the cruel age of 11. Eve fought every day for two years of her life and sadly passed away on the 24th June 2017. She was an A M A Z I N G young lady with a personality like no other. Two weeks before she passed she drew a picture of a sun and written underneath it were the words ‘Keep Smiling’, which highlights the bravery of a little girl battling for her life. I have watched first hand Meg,Beth & they’re INCREDIBLE family battling through the every day trauma that this horrible disease has brought on them, changing their lives forever. And yes, they suffer and grieve daily, but they, together with the impact Eve has left on them never fail to KEEP SMILING through their pain. Therefore, the Lyons family & their very special angel Eve Lyons, and Liberty and the legacy that she has left is the reason I am asking for any donations possible to try and help other people that battle in this way every day. So please could you donate whatever you possibly can- ANY donation will be MUCH appreciated So Let’s KEEP SMILING and do our bit to help! Big love x
