Walking 90 lengths of Hythe Pier

HPHA aims to preserve and protect Hythe Pier, Train and associated structures from further deterioration and develop it to be a real community feature where the heritage of the pier, train and ferry can be celebrated by the local community, visitors to the area and the wider public.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Margaret Blake, and this year I will be 90 years young.

I am aiming to walk 90 lengths of the half mile pier before 15th of September, each length will be witnessed by the ticket office. As you can imagine this is a fairly daunting prospect, especially as I suffered a broken hip in December 2022.

The wonderful group of volunteers of Hythe Men’s Shed, along with the Hythe Pier Heritage Association, are working hard to renovate the Pier, enabling the Hythe Ferry to continue its historic and important link to Southampton. Our help and support is crucial, and by raising funds they can continue their good work.

I hope that lots of you will support me, any amount you are able to donate would be gratefully received as every pound donated is really needed to preserve this historic feature of Hythe.
