This fundraiser is in loving memory of Margaret (Maggie) Gibson, who died peacefully on 28th May 2026 in the care of the incredible Marie Curie Hospice team.

Mags was full of fun, endlessly glamorous and never missed a celebration, with her usually being one of the last to leave any party. She adored her family, her holidays, her food, her pina coladas and the craic that came with every gathering.

She was glamorous to the very end. Nails, makeup, hair - she always wanted to look her best.

Throughout her life, she supported her family in countless ways. And in her final months, that same care was returned to her by the Marie Curie team. As a family, we cannot express our gratitude enough for the respect, dignity and compassion they showed her and for the peace they brought to both Mags and all of us who loved her.

To give something back, several members of Mags’s family will be taking part in the Twilight Walk on 26 September 2026 to raise funds for the hospice.

Marie Curie nurses, doctors and frontline staff work night and day in the Belfast Hospice and in people’s homes across Northern Ireland, providing expert clinical care and much‑needed comfort for families at the hardest moments of their lives.

The money raised helps Marie Curie Nurses provide vital care and support to people living with terminal illness, and to their families when they need it most.

£23 could pay for one hour of vital nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home.

£92 could help fund four hours of nursing care in a person’s home when they need it most.

The care the Marie Curie nurses gave Mags was extraordinary — not just for her, but for all of us. Their kindness, compassion and dignity made an unbearable time gentler, and we will always be grateful.
