Story

Climbing Ben Nevis for LinkLiving 💙

On 24th April, I’ll be climbing Ben Nevis — the highest mountain in the UK — with my husband Craig and some amazing colleagues from LinkLiving.

I’m taking on this challenge to raise funds for the people we support through our Supported Living services across Fife.

LinkLiving is a trauma-informed Scottish health and wellbeing charity supporting people of all ages to overcome the impacts of trauma, mental health challenges, inequality and isolation. As a Team Leader in Supported Living, I see firsthand how vital social connection and meaningful activities are to wellbeing.

Our team runs arts and crafts groups, games sessions, and organises celebrations and parties throughout the year. These activities help reduce isolation, build confidence, create routine, and — most importantly — bring joy.

We work hard to source contributions, secure discounts and stretch every penny as far as possible. By donating, you’ll be helping us continue to provide these opportunities and create more moments that truly make a difference.

Climbing Ben Nevis will definitely be a challenge. At 1,345 metres high, it’s a steep and demanding climb that can take 7–9 hours to complete. The terrain is rocky, the incline relentless, and the weather unpredictable. There will be tired legs, sore muscles, and likely some strong winds at the summit — but it will all be worth it knowing we’re raising money for such an important cause.

If you’re able to donate — even a small amount — it would mean so much. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.

Thank you for your support 💙
