Mum, Hazel, was lucky enough to have her end of life care provided by St. Leonard's Hospice. They were just wonderful and experts in what they do, taking some of the stress away at a very hard time. Mum had Hospice at home and then was on the ward for her last few days. We are forever grateful for what they did for us, and by doing the walk we hope to contribute in some small way , so that other families can also experience this gift.

St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and their families when they need it most, and we’ve been doing it for 40 years. Our patients’ needs are our priority, and our care is designed to make the best of their lives. We provide care at our Hospice, in patients’ homes, and in our community.

We provide care for free, but it’s not free to provide. It costs £7.9 million a year, and just a quarter of that comes from the government. We rely on the generosity of our community for the rest. Your donation means we can be here to help more people in York and surrounding areas when they need us most.
