Over the past few months, I’ve enrolled in the FREEDOM Programme — a 12-week journey of learning, healing, and reclaiming my voice. During this time, Cambridge Women’s Aid has been a quiet but powerful source of strength — not just for me, but for thousands of women facing unthinkable challenges. I was fortunate to receive support when I needed it most. But what struck me is this: so many women have far less than I do. Not because they’re not strong — they are. But because their circumstances, their networks, or simply their options are more limited. And that’s frightening —

So, as I travel solo with my boys to Italy this summer, I want this journey to carry meaning beyond us —

I’ve launched a small fundraiser with JustGiving

£1 for every mile we drive

1000miles = £1000

Every pound will go directly to Women’s Aid, helping to provide safe housing for women and children, legal guidance and emotional support, and importantly a space to be seen, heard, and protected — sometimes for the first time.

This is a symbolic act, yes — but I truly hope it will help other women on their own path to FREEDOM. Driving across borders with my boys in our electric car reflects something deeply personal: Resilience. Stamina. Patience. Planning. Hope. And belief in change —
