Story
Each year I sign up to donate to a charity for 12 months, Oxfam, Age UK, The British Legion. My most recent one has been Omaze which I realise is quite a selfish one as I am really waiting to win the million pound house! So to balance this I have signed up to take part in the big sleep out in Worcester this year. You never know when homelessness will affect you! As the saying goes some of us are only 1 pay cheque away from losing the roof over our heads.
The Big Worcester Sleep Out will return Friday 11th April 2025 to raise money for St Pauls Hostel, Worcester Warriors Foundation, and Maggs Day Centre. For the first time, the sleep out will take place in the courtyard outside Henry Sandon Hall.
We are aiming to raise £20,000 for 2025 with all of the funds raised will be split equally between St Pauls Hostel, Warriors Community Foundation, and Maggs Day Centre.
Our mission is to raise awareness of the complex issues surrounding homelessness within our county, and the services our charities relentlessly push forward. We started our event to help change perceptions, as well changing lives. Whilst we always seek to create empathy through education, we do not seek to recreate the experience of being homeless.
Our aim for 2025 is to have 100 people sleeping out on the night raising £20,000. All money raised will be split between equally by Maggs, St Pauls, and Worcester Warriors Foundation.
