Story
Many of us know someone who is battling cancer, or we have lost loved ones to this unrelenting disease. Humanist Society Northern Ireland are walking together to raise funds for Marie Curie - an incredible charity that does SO much for those affected by cancer.
Marie Curie nurses, doctors and frontline staff work night and day in our Belfast Hospice and in peoples homes right across Northern Ireland providing expert clinical care for patients and much needed respite, comfort and reassurance for families, carers and loved ones.
The money that is raised helps Marie Curie Nurses provide vital care and support to people with terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.
£23 could pay for one hour of vital nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home
£92 could help fund four hours of nursing care in a person's home when they need it most.
One of our founding members Mena Kearney, sadly lost her battle with cancer in 2022 - we walk for her, for all the warriors who fight on and for the incredible care staff who work for Marie Curie
