Story
My Mum passed away in May 2024 very suddenly from a Stroke. She was in hospital for over 3 weeks where she was very poorly and was placed on End Of Life Care 3 Times before she finally said Goodbye. Throughout her time in hospital the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Leciester General Hospital did everything they could, and looked after her with such love and care. There was hope that she stayed with us even with Life Changing disabilities which is why i want to raise money for anyone that survives a stroke and needs rehibilitation as the care that is provided after a stroke is remarkable and without that care and support that is provided so many more people would not make it to leading a fulfilling life.
I am a keen runner and Ex Cyclist who competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in Cycling and 2 x National Road Race Championship Titles in Road Cycling. I always strive for a PB and always try to win when i can, however this Half Marathon i am going to run and enjoy it in Memory of my Mum as she always encouraged us as kids to take part and enjoy sport rather than always winning !!
