I'm back with another trekking mission: to conquer Machu Picchu in Peru in May.

This trek comes at a time when I finally hand in my 6-year journey of completing a part-time distance learning BSc Psychology with Honors degree, AS I turn 50 years old!!!!!

Simon was a very big part of me starting this degree, and it is with a sad heavy heart and very bittersweet memories, that he is not here to see me graduate and make him proud. He saw and brought out the best in me, through those rose-coloured glasses, he saw my potential and was always there to encourage me when times got tough. He supported me through everything, and I will be eternally grateful for his undying love and belief in my capabilities. He called me his "Mary Poppins" as I navigated working full time, studying part-time, being a parent, and balancing a busy family life with fitness and seeing friends.

We had always planned to travel more and make more treks in the UK and abroad, living life's experiences to the fullest TOGETHER. But sadly, I now must continue our plan ON MY OWN.

It has nearly been 2 years that Simon, my person, was taken from me, from this world, way too soon, and in such an aggressive manner. Simon, who was 48, had a 10-week battle with Oesophageal Cancer which was brutal and overnight, I became his full-time carer, as he was so symptomatic. We were fortunate to have had the incredible support from the fantastic team of doctors at the North London Hospice who were brilliant at navigating the complex world of pain management. They balanced that with the selfless, loving, and nurturing team of nurses and carers that supported and cared for Simon in the last few weeks of his life.

Please help me raise funds for the North London Hospice, which provides a vital service for people at the most vulnerable end stage of their lives.
