Jess was diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy aged 9. We’re fundraising to support Muscular Dystrophy UK, helping fund vital research, support families and build a brighter future for Jess and others affected.

Story

On Sunday 24th May, I’ll be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy.

Just five months ago, a friend’s daughter, Jess, was diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy (DM1). It’s a condition that affects not only Jess, but her entire family—and countless others living with muscular dystrophy.

Taking on 13.1 miles feels like a small challenge compared to what they face every day. If I can raise some money to support vital research and help families like Jess’s, then every step will be worth it.

If you’re able to donate or share this, I’d be incredibly grateful. ❤️

Muscles.

We use them to move.

Walk, eat, smile, cry.

Pump blood around our bodies.

To breathe in and out.

Our muscles matter.

By fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, I’m helping to fund world-class research into effective treatments, and life changing support for the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

All donations and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
