AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run 10K 2026 · 3 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Based in Symphony Hall, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra gives over 150 concerts each year in Birmingham, the UK and around the world, playing music that ranges from classics to contemporary, film music and even symphonic disco. With a far-reaching community programme and a family of choruses and ensembles, it’s involved in every aspect of music-making in the Midlands. But at its centre is a team of 75 superb professional musicians, and a 100-year tradition of making the world’s greatest music, right here in the heart of Birmingham.

Story

On May 3rd, 2026, members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, including orchestra and chorus members as well as dedicated staff, will take on the challenge of running either a 10K or a Half Marathon in the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run. We are coming together to raise vital funds for our beloved CBSO.

The CBSO plays an essential role in enriching Birmingham’s cultural landscape. We bring world-class music to our city, inspire young people through educational projects, and strive to make music accessible to communities across the region. By supporting this run, you are helping ensure that live orchestral music continues to flourish in Birmingham. Your contributions will support musicians and performers alike, enabling us to continue our important work both on and off the concert stage.

Every donation counts—no matter how small—and makes a significant impact on our mission. Thank you for considering supporting the CBSO and cheering us on as we embark on this exciting journey. Being part of a community choir has been a transformative experience; it fosters a sense of belonging akin to being part of one big family. The health benefits—both mental and physical—are profound, and there is nothing quite like the thrill of performing in concerts or achieving perfection during rehearsals. I feel truly privileged to be part of this incredible organization, so please consider sponsoring me for this amazing cause.
