Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing 3 half marathons for my favourite charity this year (the Owen McVeigh Foundation). Owen was only 11 years old when he passed away couple years ago after a very short illness with Leukaemia. The charity was set up by his parents who I met when a member of David Lloyd Knowsley, and their aim is to help children who are ill with cancer and their families in the Merseyside area, by helping make their dreams come true, whether it is watching their favourite football team train, to going to concerts and meeting their heros etc. You may see our flag at every Liverpool Home game - where it shows Owen and his dad hand in hand going to the match - and lovely to see Liverpool and Everton united in this charity - with the Tshirts being blue or red for whichever supporter prefers.

I have tried to vary the activities i do - from Climbing Snowden, Abseil of the Anglican Cathedral, Half Marathon running, Supersonic race series (5 consecutive days of running with over 30 miles of varied terrain - sand dunes, more hills and oh yeah more hills) - and thought what can i do differently, skydive - the list goes on.

So thought i would really test myself this year - as i approach 60 - so am doing 3 half marathons this year - liverpool, london and conwy (even though i am no where near recovered following having 14 stitches in my heel).

Please dig deep - the price of a brew will go a long way to help - and i as well as all my friends in the charity - will really appreciate your efforts - so if i have ever done you a good turn, or just want to help in general - please do so.
