Story
I did the 1.5 km a few years ago and due to I’ll health haven’t been in the pool for quite some time. I have since found out that I have Craniad Disc Migration and can be in so much pain at times that I cannot move. I now have my pain under control a majority of the time and so decided to start swimming again. I decided that I was going to do the Swimathon again. After losing a lot of loved ones to one form of cancer or another over the last few years I decided to go big or go home and go for the 30.9km. It’s a big task but I am confident that with the support of family, friends and other swimmers I can do this. So please give as little or as much as you can, you never know if you or someone you know may need the support offered by these 2 wonderful charities.
Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2022 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.
On 6-8 May, over 21,000 swimmers will be heading to over 300 pools across the UK to raise money for our two amazing charity partners.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two charities.
