I don't like running.
But, I've been inspired by the amazing fundraising efforts of a local family and want to help them give children who suffer from Dravet's Syndrome a brighter future. So, I decided to run the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise funds for Dravet Syndrome UK.
Dravet Syndrome is a rare, complex, devastating and life limiting neurological condition. It includes seizures, intellectual disability and a range of associated health conditions known as ‘comorbidities’. Around one in every 15,000 babies in the UK will be born with the condition.
Dravet Syndrome UK was created in 2009 by a group of parents who came together looking for support, resources and information relating to Dravet Syndrome. From a medical perspective, there is an urgent need for more research into the causes and complexities of the condition, in order to identify more effective approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
Please, give what you can to support the great work that this charity does.
