Story
On 11th October, we will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Max, Nadine’s son, and all the 11,000 people who live with Cystic Fibrosis in the UK.
Max was born on 4th January, 2021 and quickly diagnosed with cystic fibrosis following a tummy issue that required three surgeries. When born, the median life expectancy was 44.
Owing to the progress in scientific research (in no small part funded by donations and fundraising like this), there is no reason that a child born today should not expect a ‘normal’ life - and that is research that continues to try and find ways to improve treatments and therapies.
There is currently no cure, but with your help we can assist in the growing progress of science towards better treatments and therapies that allow the ~11,000 in the UK with cystic fibrosis to lead full and happy lives.
Your money absolutely makes a difference.
Thank you
Nadine (on behalf of Max!) and Marion

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 11,000 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
