Bright Sparks School is a small NGO primary school in north India that seeks out kids that have missed the chance for an education. Street kids. Children of migrant workers. Kids whose parents are illiterate and didn't get the paperwork to get them into school.

The project has been going for 24+ years and over 1000 kids have benefitted. The project is funded solely by donations.

This JG page is raising funds through various small enterprises as well as gifts from friends. There will be knitting by Meg and printmaking by Marion. If you can buy, or donate or sell something to add to the pot - thanks, that's fabulous.

The children who leave Bright Sparks mostly go on to government secondary schools. A few even go frther and do degree courses. All gain a basic education - and the cycle of illiteracy in their family is broken. This is a very simple, life-changing project. You can read more about it on the website:
