Marisa's fundraiser for Cumbria Addictions Advice & Solutions (CADAS)

Marisa Hartshorn is raising money for Cumbria Addictions Advice & Solutions (CADAS)

Carlisle Half Marathon & 10K · 19 July 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Cumbria Addictions: Advice and Solutions (CADAS) have been supporting people living in Cumbria and their families with their mental health, addictions and substance dependency since the organisation was established in 1979. CADAS provide targeted early intervention programmes that reach the most troubled and vulnerable children, young people, adults and families in Cumbria communities. CADAS address the following priorities: - Prevention and reducing harm by delivering a holistic approach, addressing multiple and complex needs, including the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) with a range of evidenced based interventions - Delivering programmes tailored to individual needs and local situations involving families and communities; these are designed and delivered in partnership. Annually, through population health and recovery pathways for families and individuals, CADAS work directly with c400 people and reach around 3000 through health promotion work.

Story

This July I am running the Carlisle 10k to raise money for CADAS!

The support that CADAS provide to people struggling with addiction across Cumbria changes lives. Coaches are empathetic, compassionate and non-judgrmemtal and provide real, practical help to anyone facing any kind of addiction - from alcohol to gamling and substances.

Working for CADAS, I see the care and hard work that goes into enabling this support. Your donation can really make a difference to people in your community, helping CADAS to continue to provide this vital service.

Please support me by giving what you can to this cause whilst I prepare to run 10k. 🥵 I haven't run for a while so this is going to take a bit of training!
