Story
Sooooo, I’ve somehow decided that, as a complete running newbie, the logical thing to do is take on the London Landmarks Half Marathon as my first ever run! But at least it’s all for a great cause, as I’ll be running for The Royal Marsden next April 2027! ❤️
The Royal Marsden is a charity that means a huge amount to me. I’ve seen first-hand just how important the work they do is, and the care, support and expertise they provide to people affected by cancer. That’s why I wanted to take on this challenge and raise money for them. They do such incredible work, from providing world leading treatment and care to funding pioneering research into earlier diagnosis and new and more personalised treatments.
I am absolutely NOT a runner (yet). I’ve never ever run more than 5K before, so going from that to 13.1 miles feels a bit like a delusional or, some may say, an ambitious decision 😂. I already know there will be a lot of training, a lot of complaining, and at least a few moments where I wonder why I thought this was a good idea.
But because The Royal Marsden is so meaningful to me, I really wanted to push myself to do something that would actually be a challenge and hopefully turn all the pain of running into something positive.
So please, please donate if you can! Even £1 or £5 or whatever you can spare will make a difference and help The Royal Marsden continue supporting people with cancer and funding vital research and treatments. ❤️
If you can donate, just know that you are directly contributing to me having slightly less of a meltdown somewhere around the first minute in. So really, you’re helping an amazing cause and preventing a potential crash out!
Thank you so much for all your love and support, and please donate so I have no choice but to actually finish this thing and run it for you all!🏃♀️❤️
