This year I’m taking on the Raptor Ride once again – and this time we’re heading to the Rhine Region for what promises to be the biggest and most ambitious event yet. Riders from across the Lloyd’s and wider insurance market will be coming together to push themselves over several days in the saddle, all for an incredible cause.

The energy and support behind Raptor continues to grow every year, and 2026 is shaping up to be record-breaking. It’s a brilliant example of what we can achieve when we come together with a shared goal – and I’m really looking forward to being part of it again.

I’m riding in support of Action Medical Research, a charity that is very close to my heart. Their work funding vital medical research has helped save and improve the lives of millions of children and families over the past 65 years — from helping to eliminate polio in the UK to developing ultrasound scanning and advancing treatments for serious childhood conditions.

This cause is particularly personal to me. My daughter April was diagnosed with leukaemia as a baby and has lived her life with Down’s Syndrome. As a family, we’ve seen first-hand the importance of medical research in improving outcomes and delivering hope to families going through incredibly challenging times.

Action Medical Research continues to fund groundbreaking work to develop new treatments and cures for sick babies and children — but they rely on support from people like us to make it happen.
