🌈 Support the LGBTQIA+ Community in Addressing the Chemsex Crisis 🌈
If you’re queer and living in London—or anywhere in the UK—there’s a high chance you’ve encountered offers of “chems” or been exposed to the culture of chemsex. This growing issue within the LGBTQIA+ community is steeped in stigma, which only heightens the challenge of addressing it effectively. Drugs like crystal meth and GHB are gaining popularity, leading to isolation, paranoia, psychosis, addiction, and, tragically, even death.
We need to openly discuss chemsex and related issues if we want to make real, tangible progress on this public health crisis. Together, we can work to remove the stigma, encourage honest conversations, and give this issue the attention it urgently deserves.
Controlling Chemsex is a charity taking a bold stand against this crisis, offering compassionate, hands-on support for those in need. Their confidential services are a beacon of hope, helping individuals who may be struggling to find a path forward.
On November 23rd at Victoria Park, I’ll be running a 10K as part of the Red Run to raise funds and awareness for this vital charity.
Please consider supporting this cause by making a donation. Whether or not you’re able to give, your awareness and support mean the world. 💰🙏🏻
