Under four weeks to go now !!
On Sunday October 18th we are taking on the Great South Run - a 10 mile course around Portsmouth - to raise crucial funds for Hampshire Search and Rescue ( HANTSAR).
Who are the runners ?
Sheena recently completed the Serpentine Swim raising over £750 for Hantsar - this completed the triple crown of swim , run ( London Marathon ) and bike ( 100 miles around London ). She hopes to become operational in the Hantsar team in 2027.
Dave has raised a lot of money in the past for different charities and has been impressed by Hantsar's professional approach despite all being volunteers.
Mark joined Hantsar in 2019 and is a regular member of the team on searches , training and fundraising. He will also be the slowest !!
Why HANTSAR?
HANTSAR is a team of highly trained volunteers available 24/7 , 365 days a year. We are called out by the police to search for high risk and vulnerable missing people across Hampshire- including children , elderly individuals with dementia and people in crisis.
What many people don't realise is that HANTSAR receives no funding and rely 100% on public donations to maintain search equipment , response vehicles and specialized technology like drones and medical kit . The volunteers even fund their own travel to callouts
Every single pound gives this team the resources they need to bring loved ones home safely .
thank you for your support
