The reason I have taken on this challenge is in memory of my mum, who we sadly lost to MND, a very cruel and unforgiving condition. My mum was a huge Strictly fan and also loved to dance herself. My mum was admitted to Dove House, where she received specialist care for MND. MND care requires specialist and dedicated expertise as the condition is very complex. At Dove House, the consultants and the nurses are highly qualified in this field. My mum received endless love, care, compassion during her care from EVERYONE at Dove House. Dove House is filled with love. As a family, we also received the same level of care and attention. Every member of staff at Dove House genuinely cares about the patient and their family. With statutory funding currently covering just 10% of annual running costs, it is the support of the local community which keeps the service here for those in need.
