Story
I’m attempting to raise £1700 for St Luke's Hospice in Cheshire by trekking 50km through the Sahara Desert in October 2025. The trek will take me up and down sand dunes and through dried-up rocky riverbeds, with temperatures likely to be 35C+ during the day and below zero at night. St Luke’s is well known for its end of life care and this challenge is nothing compared to the journey their patients face, but I am determined to raise much needed funds to help St Luke’s do their amazing work. I have witnessed first hand the amazing work of St Luke’s and I have decided to support them to continue the wonderful work they do. Please help by sponsoring me, every bit of support is greatly appreciated.
So what is St Luke’s Hospice? Since 1988 St Luke’s has been providing a huge range of support to local people - from end of life care to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. St Luke’s supports them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year they supported over 1,000 local people. St Luke’s is a charity and provides care for free, they rely on the generosity and commitment of their supporters to raise more than 80% of their income.
