Story

Hi Friends.

I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in the Marathon this year so I wanted to use this opportunity to raise money for EHRA, a charity that does such amazing work helping the lives of endangered Namibian desert adapted elephants and the communities that live with them.

I wondered how long it would take an Elephant to run the Marathon, so I asked Chat GPT!

"An elephant could theoretically complete a marathon, but not by running the whole way. While it can sprint at speeds of up to about 25 km/h, this can only be sustained briefly. Its normal walking speed is around 4–6 km/h, meaning it would likely complete most of the distance at a steady walk. At that pace, the marathon would take roughly 8–10 hours ...they probably couldn't complete a Marathon safely as they overheat, their joints aren’t suited for prolonged running and they need frequent rest, water, and food"

Sounds exactly like me! So if you want to see me sprint for short periods and then wandering around with aching knees looking for food please donate to this amazing cause. All the money goes directly to EHRA as my ballot place is free. Thank you.
