Mark's fundraiser in support of The MND Association

Yorkshire 3 Peaks, Lyke Wake Walk & Pennine Way · 17 June 2025
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Having seen the effects this cruel disease has on people mainly in the media with the likes of Rob Burrow & Doddie Weir, I have personally witnessed the 1st hand the impact on a lovely lady Carole I know & her family, this coupled with the impact it is having on a colleague Ryan with his dad suffering from it & seeing the positive response in & around Leeds has inspired me to take up a series of challenges to support the cause.
Whilst never a Rhino's fan (Bulls or Northern at heart) Sir Kevin has continued to put his body & mind through challenges in support of a mate.
So with this in mind I have put a series of 3 challenges together to challenge myself physically & mentally. Many of you will know I have undertaken some treks previously but I think this will be the toughest yet but nowhere near as tough as what MND sufferers & their family go through every day knowing the end outcome isn't positive.
My challenge series is made up of:
Yorkshire 3 Peaks - 17th June. 24 mile round trip incorporating Pen-y-ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough with a group of work colleagues.
Lyke Wake Walk (old coffin route) - date mid July. A 40 mile challenge across the North York Moors from Osmotherley to Ravenscar completed within 24 hours with over 5,000 feet of ascent.
Pennine Way - last but not least the 268 mile National Trail from Edale to Kirk Yetholm. Starting 22nd August this will be a 15 day trek along the "backbone of England" with my wife Jane on what is the 60th anniversary of the Trail.
If you help me reach my financial target I've set I would be grateful as I'm sure the MND community would also be.
By sponsoring all your donations will go towards helping people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
