Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be attempting to swim across Belfast Lough, from Greys Point to Carrickfergus, which calculates to a 5-6km Open Water challenge, this is to raise funds to allow Belfast Lough Sailability to continue the fantastic support they provide. The open water swim will be my first swim challenge, making the crossing with a team of other keen swimmers, managing the tides, waves, the odd Stena Line or shipping container, it will be managed by a crew on the water to make sure we are all kept safe and make it ashore in Carrickfergus. If you can spare a few £'s, I and the charity are greatly appreciative.
A little bit about the charity below.
Belfast Lough Sailability is a non-profit organisation run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers who assist in the co-ordination of activities as well as enabling people living with disabilities to get afloat. It was established in September 2001, received charitable status in May 2002 and continues to provide inclusive recreational opportunities for families and individuals. We rely on the support of the community and contributions from organisations to raise the necessary funds to purchase essential equipment and boats along with day to day running costs.
