Story
Last year, I co-led an expedition that paddled 1,000 kilometres over 5 weeks down the historic Ottawa River from Lac des Outaouais to Westboro Beach, Ottawa.
In 2026, the Paddle For Resilience is a “do it yourself” or “DIY” fundraising campaign taking place between June 27th and September 7th.
This year my paddle takes me from Kingston to Ottawa along the Rideau Canal system.
My connection to Wounded Warriors goes all the way back to their origin story on that fateful day in September 2006 in Kandahar, Afghanistan when Sapper Mike McTeague, a member of my squadron, was seriously injured by a suicide bomber. His journey to recovery launched Wounded Warriors Canada and their important work continues to this day.
I invite Canadians from coast-to-coast to paddle wherever, whenever, however they want to raise money for Wounded Warriors Canada to benefit veterans and trauma-exposed professionals.
