Climbing Snowden · 25 July 2025

STEEL BONES is a volunteer led charity worign with over 1400 amputees across the UK. A community of thousands including their family members.

Story

Mark Gayler and his client, Mick Lammond along with a few others are climbing Snowden on Friday 25 July 2025.

Mick was severely injured in a Road Traffic Accident on the 21 November 2022 when he was riding his motor cycle in London and a car travelling in the opposite direction attempted to turn right into a side road and struck Mick on the right of the bike, trapping his leg between the front of the car and the bike.

His lower leg injuries were so extensive that he underwent a trans-tibial amputation on 6 December 2022.

Following two sets of revision surgery, Mick has worked really hard on his rehabilitation with help from Dorset Orthopaedics and now intends to push himself and climb Snowden.

Mick has since trained as a Peer Support worker for Steel Bones, an amputee charity which is run by and for amputees and their families. They provide support by providing:
