Story
I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Sport in Mind, a charity that uses sport and physical activity to support young people’s mental health. As a PE teacher and Head of Department in an SEMH school, I see every day how powerful movement, routine and belonging can be for children who face emotional and behavioural challenges. For many of them, sport isn’t just an activity — it’s a lifeline, a safe space, and sometimes the first place they truly feel understood.
This cause matters deeply to me because I know the impact it can have. I’ve seen students grow in confidence, find calm, build resilience and discover joy through sport. Supporting Sport in Mind means helping more young people access those same opportunities, especially those who need it most.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it will help me reach my £500 target and make a real difference. Thank you for supporting me — and for supporting the young people who deserve every chance to thrive.
