On November 16th 2024 myself, mark and Molly will be taking part in the Alton Towers 10k in memory of my beautiful daughter and sister Sophie-May.

The last 4 months have been the hardest time of our lives, Sophie was the bravest person you could ever meet. Life dealt Sophie an incredibly cruel hand, she had to fight for life every day. Sophie fought to be here for nearly 19 years. She gave us all 19 years of pure love, something so incredibly special, something we will always be grateful for.

We wish other families did not have to suffer the utter heart ache that we are having to go through as a family. If we can raise just a small amount of money for the Lily Foundation to help with their mission to one day find a cure for Mitochondrial disease it would mean so much.

As a family we always loved making memories and we promised Sophie we would keep making memories with her by our side. Sophie will be running this 10 k with us. Her bravery will keep us all going to the finish line.

The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.

Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.
