The Wall - Ultramarathon (112km) · 14 June 2025

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

On June 12th, 2023, my dad Mark Morris suffered a cardiac arrest while on a bike ride and passed away. Losing my father was the most devastating thing to happen to our family.

This year on June 14th, I'm doing a 112km ultramarathon from Carlisle to Gateshead to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in his memory.

The British Heart Foundation funds medical research into heart and circulatory diseases, including the causes and risk factors of cardiac arrest. They also work to shape public policy and raise awareness about heart conditions. I'm hoping the money I raise can contribute to their research into cardiac arrest - understanding why it happens, how to prevent it, and how to improve survival rates when it does occur.

Cardiac arrest can strike without warning, as it did with my dad. And its my hope that the money we raise together can help prevent at least one family from experiencing what we did 2 years ago

Please consider supporting this fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation.

Every donation helps fund research specifically into conditions like cardiac arrest that could make a real difference for families facing these sudden medical emergencies.
