Story

My name is Mark Ogle, my wife Sharon and I have 3 beautiful children. Maddison, Poppy and Isaac. We are from Cregagh in East Belfast.

On the 20th January 2021, 4 days after Poppys 9th birthday we got the devastating news Poppy had been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Sarcoma Cancer. Poppy fought every day to live with such bravery.

After so much surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy Poppy had clear scans. However on the 11th feb 2022 we were told the cancer was back and there was no more treatment available. On the 26th May 2022 our hearts shattered as we lost our beautiful warrior princess Poppy.

In our darkest hour the NI Children’s Hospice along with the CCN nursing team and the RBHSC medical staff ensured our wish was granted. They ensured Poppy could have hospice at home for end of life care in her own bed in her own house. All of these staff are so special being able to do the job they do, so gentle and compassionate in a situation no one should ever have to experience.

After Poppy passed away the Children’s Hospice continued to support our family. They guided us through family bereavement sessions. They also came to our home weekly to help our other children, Maddison and Isaac navigate through life without their beloved sister.

With well publicised news in the last week with how much financially the NI Children’s Hospice is struggling. We as a family in memory of our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and amazing friend would like to try and raise some money to support this irreplaceable service.

The NI Children’s Hospice receive a small amount of government funding, so they rely on the generosity of our local community to help us to continue to deliver our vital service.

We can all do this Powered by Poppy 🌻💛🎗️

No matter how small a donation it will all help.

Thank you

Mark, Sharon, Maddison, Isaac and Pyper 🐶
