Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year will be my tenth marathon in total and my eighth London Marathon since I lost my beautiful mum to suicide in 2018.

Not in a million years did I think suicide would impact my family and it absolutely breaks my heart that my mum didn't see any other way out. There would've been brighter days ahead for sure and it's horrible to know that she didn't feel there would be.

Having researched the illness I understand now that those suffering feel like a burden and assume their friends and family would be better off without them.

The stigma was a massive thing too - people really don't understand mental health.

That's why I chose fundraising for Mind because I don't want other people to suffer and I don't want anyone else to feel there is no way out.

To date I have raised just over £44k for the charity and my aim is to reach £50k raised before my 50th birthday in September

I appreciate everyones support year after year and I honestly think together we can make a difference.

I miss you mum xxx
