With a group of 120 people in Barclays, split into teams of 30 raising money for four different charities, I will be taking part in the "Lake District Triple Challenge":

• Climbing to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston – 10km, 803m

• Mountain biking through Grizedale Forest, one of the Lake District's most famous mountain biking areas, including the lung-pumping ascent of the hill into the forest – 12km

• Kayaking around Coniston Water – 1.5km

(all in the same day, on 15 July 2023)

My team's charity is Care For Veterans, who provide long term nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and award-winning end-of-life care to disabled ex-armed forces personnel from the RAF, Army, Royal Navy and auxiliary services.

Donations will be matched by my employer. If you wish to be anonymous on this page I’d appreciate if you could inform me separately as matching is made against identifiable donations - thanks.

Barclays will match all donations up to a total of £1000, and UK-taxpayer sponsors will be eligible to for 25% Gift Aid. So if you feel like making a charitable donation, your money will go much further. For example:

Pledge £20

Gift Aid £20 * 25% = £5

Barclays Matching = £20

Total = £45

So for your £20 pledged, the charity gets £45!
