Free School Breakfast in Madama

Mark Pennell is raising money for The Olive Harvest Trust
Education is a symbol of hope for Palestinian children growing up in very dark times. Breakfast is important to get the best out of a school day so starting with the youngest and most vulnerable we hope to offer free school breakfasts from September.

Story

Education is a lifeline in very dark times. Palestinians are passionate about learning and are one of the most highly educated nations in the world.

The West Bank has been under military occupation since 1967. This has impacted education with army incursions into schools see our website for evidence https://oliveharvesttrust.org/ Since October 2023 the economy, particularly in rural areas, is in a dire state due to increased army checkpoints, incursions and settler attacks.

In Madama, the headmistress together with the former Headmaster of the Madama Boys' School suggested school breakfasts. We want to make it happen and we plan to start in September with breakfasts for Grades 1-4, the youngest co-ed students.

This will need money and we'd be particularly grateful for a regular donation no matter how small as children need breakfast each day.

£5, a little more than the price of a coffee, will provide breakfast for a child for a school week.
