Story

SNOWMANJARO challenge – it’s not a spurious winter weight loss drug!

A couple of years ago my eldest daughter was diagnosed with Primary Systemic Vasculitis (PSV) an auto-immune disease with no known cause and no known cure. It is when white blood cells which normally defend the body, instead start to attack it which can have severe consequences and can lead to sensory and organ failure and must be treated with immune suppressing drugs, steroids and chemotherapy. It’s a nasty card to be dealt but even when going through chemo my daughter continued to deliver her characteristic smile, completed her doctorate and we kept the low moments to ourselves. Rather than get on my bike as normal, I have decided to try and climb Snowdon (1085 metres) and Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895 metres). I am calling it the SNOWMANJARO challenge (for some reason I find that funny!). I am raising funds for Vasculitis UK a small charity which funds research and delivers support to sufferers of this horrible condition. I am paying all my own expenses so all the money raised will go to the charity. Thanks so much for any help that you can give.
