Story
After 10 years unsuccessfully trying to get a place in the London Marathon through ballot, a friend of mine said they were taking part in the Brighton Marathon.
Therefore to tick a box off on my bucket list I am taking part in the Brighton Marathon.
My training has gone well and I have has no injuries, so I am now confident that I will make the start line and complete the challenge in just a few weeks time.
Therefore, it is time to raise money to support a charity and give that extra motivation for myself.
I have not chosen a large charity who will always get loads of fundraising but a charity that is dear to my heart.
The Niall Stringer Foundations sole mission is to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and wellbeing, and give sports clubs, at all levels, across the UK the tools to allow them to contribute positively in the prevention of suicide in young people.
Niall was a colt at my rugby club Old Brentwoods. He tragically took his own life at 17 years old.
The Niall Stringer Foundation aims to help prevent more tragedies like this occurring.
It is so important that young people know that no matter what has happened there is always someone to talk to and always someone to listen and support them.
The charity to continue raising funds so they can offer FREE mental health and well being courses to Sports Clubs around the UK, to help prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
