The Walk to Walfrid.

Mark Ramsay is raising money for Celtic FC Foundation

The Walk to Walfrid. Letterkenny to Brother Walfrid Statue in Ballymote, Sligo. · 8 September 2025

We aim to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and adults within our local communities, through the delivery of a series of key needs-led projects.

Story

Charity has always been an integral part of our football club, uniting the Celtic Family around the world in collectively-held values and beliefs. Celtic FC Foundation is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (number SC024648) and we strive to honour the charitable principles and heritage of Celtic Football Club.We aim to respond to the needs of disadvantaged children, young people and adults in our local communities to improve Health, promote Equality, encourage Learning and tackle Poverty. Santiago and I have often spoke of a way to raise funds for the foundation and we thought this would be a fantastic way to do so. Our walk starts in Letterkenny on the 8th of September. From there we’ll walk to the Brother Walfrid statue in Ballymote Co Sligo, via Ballybofey, Donegal Town, Bundoran and Sligo town, before reaching our final destination. The walk will be over a five day period. My ancestry is from Donegal and Brother Walfrid is the visionary who started it all. Santiago is also a passionate Celtic supporter and member of the Argentina CSC. We love the idea of raising funds and awareness for the Celtic FC Foundation
