Story
In February 2024 our friend David Scott was diagnosed with MND, a rare, progressive disease that affects the brains and nerves.
To offer my support during these difficult times, myself and my wife Julie with a team of great friends have been putting together challenges & events to help raise much needed funds for the charities that have been supporting Davy during his MND journey. Davy is a lovable character & this can be seen by how many people have joined us on the challenges.
18 people climbed Ben Nevis in April 2024 in near Arctic conditions
40 plus completed the 25 mile 3 Peak Yorkshire route in October 2024
And on the 12th June 2025 we start our next challenge - a 50 strong Just4davy team (mainly non riders) will attempt to cycle from Barmouth on the west coast of Wales to Great Yarmouth on the East coast of England (320 miles). Some of the more experienced riders will be doing the whole challenge on their own & other less experienced riders are doing it as a relay team. This event has been put together to help raise MND awareness and much needed funds for MND Association (motor neurone disease association) a charity driven organisation that is carrying out research into the disease.
We will also be hosting our first MND music festival on the 5th July 2025 @ St Andrews Football club, Canal St, Leicester LE2 8LA, where we will have live music, face painting, hot food, drinks and many other stalls. Our aim is to provide a family fun day for all those MND warriors and bring the whole MND community together to enjoy a fun filled afternoon and make valuable memories .
All profits from both events will go to the MND Association to help fund their research in a hope that a breakthrough can be found, please support where you can.
