Story
Student Minds is the UK’s student mental health charity. Our goal is to transform the state of student mental health so that all in higher education can thrive. We support students to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to look after their own mental health, support their peers and create change. We also work collaboratively with institutions, students’ unions and other organisations involved in higher education, supporting them to take a whole-university approach to mental health.
As a Deputy Vice-Chancellor I know first hand the great work that Student Minds are doing within the sector to support whole University approaches to mental health supporting students to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
In June 2025 I will be running the 268 mile Summer Spine race along the Pennine Way and then again in January 2026 for the Winter Spine Race. Described as one of the toughest ultra runs in the world, this is my greatest challenge to date.
Why run one Spine Race when you can have twice the fun…
