Story
I’m Mark, an injured former serviceman, and I can say I love what Andy’s man club stands for! This is the reason why I’ve chosen this charity:
I have a habit of setting myself crazy challenges for the sake of my own mental health, but after receiving so many messages from others sharing their struggles, I know I can do so much more to help.
This is it, Lift For Life. Hear me out, …..
Lift For Life is a disciplined, high-impact endurance event where individuals and teams challenge themselves to deadlift continuously for 24 hours. Participants, either solo or in teams of five, lift within set weight categories, with every rep contributing to an overall total at the end of the event.
Yes—it’s physical. Yes—it’s mental. And yes—it’s powerful.
The Mission
Our mission is to harness the power of fitness and community to raise awareness, break stigma, and provide vital support for mental health and crisis prevention.
We believe true strength isn’t just about lifting weights, it’s about lifting each other up.
Through Lift For Life, we bring people together to promote physical wellbeing, mental resilience, and hope for those fighting life’s toughest battles.
By partnering with Lift For Life, you can align your brand with a cause that is urgent, impactful, and deeply human, demonstrating your commitment to social responsibility, community empowerment, and lasting change.
Every rep, every lift, and every show of support brings us closer to a world where no one must struggle alone. Together, we can build strength, inspire hope, and make a difference that truly matters.
We are partnering with Andy’s Man Club for our 2025 event, and this is why.
This Is Personal
After sustaining both physical and mental injuries while serving in Afghanistan, I struggled to adjust to life back home after years on the frontline. Fitness became my anchor, the one thing that kept me moving forward.
I made a choice: to use fitness not only to rebuild my own life but also to support others. That choice became the foundation of Lift For Life, an event where we deadlift for 24 hours to raise awareness and vital funds for mental health support.
This mission is deeply personal. I have faced my own battles with mental health and, on two occasions, came close to losing that fight. What saved me was the presence of others, the people who stood by me in my darkest moments.
That’s why Lift For Life exists: to show that no one must face a mental health crisis alone, and that together, we can carry each other through the heaviest of times.
If I can lift for 24 hours, I’ll do it, because I’d rather lift for life than ever carry another coffin.
The Drive
As a former infantry soldier, physical fitness and mental resilience weren’t just requirements; they became the foundation of my life. The discipline and determination I developed in the Army continue to drive me to push beyond limits.
That drive first showed itself in challenges such as the Mercian Memorial Walk, where I joined a small team to cover 152 miles from Catterick, North Yorkshire, to Chester Town Hall in just three days.
Transitioning to civilian life was not easy, but fitness gave me focus and purpose. Training for Ironman competitions, marathons, and triathlons became my therapy, eventually leading me into disabled strongman competitions and the Highland Games.
Over time, I’ve achieved multiple world records and proudly earned the titles of England’s, Britain’s, and the World’s Strongest Disabled Man.
For me, fitness has always been more than training; it has been a lifeline, a community, and a platform to prove what can be achieved through resilience and determination.
