Event: London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024, on 7 April 2024
We educate children with Czech roots to foster a sense of community & belonging

Story

On the 7th April, I’ll join over 10,000 runners to complete the London Landmarks Half Marathon - a great London event which raises money for good causes.

The charity I have chosen is the Czech School Without Borders (www.Czechschool.org.uk). RCN 1151158.

The school, based in Tufnell Park, is a volunteer-led organisation which ensures that children with Czech heritage (like my two) build and maintain their language and cultural sense of the Czech Republic.

It also works with other cross-cultural communities to help them foster connections in the UK and with their own heritage.

Many of the people it helps have scant resources and it always engages with verve, vigour and vision. It builds communities based on hope and hard work. It needs money to keep going.

So, I’m going to run for them. They deserve it. I hope that you will help me with some support - anything at all will be massively appreciated!

Also, in case you’re wondering estimated time 110 minutes (slow but steady is the plan).

Thank you,

Mark

About the charity

Our purpose is to promote education in the language, culture and heritage of the Czech Republic to bilingual children in London. We educate the next generation, instilling a sense of belonging within the UK's Czech community, and the broader global Czech community.
