I'm taking on this marathon to raise funds for the NICU unit at DRI. Three years ago we had a baby girl who was born three months early at 27 weeks and 5 days. The care we received from all the staff involved was fantastic and we were very lucky to welcome our beautiful girl Evelyn safely into the world. The NICU unit at DRI was so supportive and we will forever be grateful for the care we received, we did however notice that the unit did lack some equipment and the parent rooms were in desperate need of a revamp. Unfortunately whilst Evelyn was on the Unit they had a huge flood which required evacuation of the whole unit and we spent the remaining time of our 69 day stay at the SCBU in Rotherham until Evelyn was able to come home.

We are hoping to raise enough money to provide essential equipment and help towards the upkeep of the parent facilities at Doncaster's unit. Those few home comforts can make all the difference when you are away from home during such an anxious time.
