Story
The Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) was inspired by Olympic Gold and Silver medallist Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE. Their mission is to transform lives through sailing.
Driven by their belief that all young people have the ability to excel and succeed in life and work the foundation brings together the challenges of sailing and watersports to build essential life skills whilst also promoting health and well-being, giving young people access to valuable learning and new skills to enable them to progress through education and into work.
I will be taking in the Port2Port challenge in October to raise money for this great charity. The route this year is from the Port of Southampton to the Port of Dover (265kms and over 1000m of climbing) over 2 days, with a team of other cyclists from the maritime industry.
I know times are tough but the team at ASF do a superb job ensuring that the kids that have through the doors have the best experience. Even the smallest donation will help ASF continue their life-changing work and ensure Bart’s legacy lives on through the people they support.
I'm now towards the end of my career and looking to help those just starting out and give them the same sort of opportunity I had when I was young!
