Home-Start Leeds is a voluntary organisation offering both emotional and practical support to families with at least one child under seven in the Leeds area.

We know that being a parent isn’t always easy and that life can bring stress and challenges that get in the way of family life.

Home-Start raises self-confidence, improves social networks, reduces difficult behaviour on the part of the child and improves mental and physical health.

I AM NOT A RUNNER! Fact!

If you know me well you will know that to be true!

So when my sister called to ask me to run a 10k in Leeds for the charity she represents I was initially on the fence! The furthest I’ve run in the last 15 years or so is probably 5k and that was many years ago! So doubling that is a challenge.

But she is persuasive! So on November 30th I will be running the Abbey Dash for Home Start charity.

It’s not a half or full marathon and for all you runners out there 10k may sound a walk in the park! But for me it’s a challenge! Maybe the start of something bigger!

So if you have any pennies, or a bit more hidden down the side of your sofa please give me that extra bit of motivation and follow the attached link to sponsor me!
