The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Hello! I'm taking on the Norwich 100km (60mile) Bike Ride on Sunday June 2nd.

Our son (Grayson) is currently being assessed for Autism, and the work that the National Autistic Society do to help raise awareness and offer support for families is amazing, so I've decided to try and raise a bit of money for them whilst I'm peddling.

Autism affects people in many different ways. For Grayson, it’s very much a social and routine thing - academically he's flourishing, really excelling at school. However, he really struggles socially with his peers and can often find it difficult to read social situations or stand up for himself. He’s easily overwhelmed and overloaded by things, loud noises and busy venues are a firm pass for G. He also has trouble with routine changes - what may seem like a totally "normal" thing (such as a teacher being off ill, Holidays, trips away, days out etc) can throw him off his day completely, and for days if not weeks after.

Sponsoring me for this ride will help fund research and support for people with Autism, and their families. You can find out more by visiting the National Autistic Society Website, just here

Thank you!
