Story

I am taking on this challenge on behalf Cara Baxter’s Legacy, and raising funds for one of their chosen charities – Friends of Roxburghe House, Grampian,

Cara, from Inverurie, sadly lost her life in January 2024, at the age of 42, after a short but very brave battle with Bowel Cancer. Within a matter of weeks from her diagnosis in October 2023, Cara’s condition deteriorated and she was unfortunately told she had months to live. Due to the aggressive nature of Caras cancer, she was immediately admitted to Roxburgh House to commence palliative care, where the care and attention she received, from everyone at Roxburgh, was second to none.

Friends of Roxburgh House are a charity that provides support and comfort for patients and their families, funding extra services and projects to help improve the quality of life in Roxburgh. This includes funding non-essential staff posts, improving facilities or providing those important little extras that can make a difference.
