Mark's marathon swim for Taylor-Made Dreams

Mark Bachini is raising money for Taylor Made Dreams

131 Mile swim throughout 2025 (equivilent of 5 x marathons)

Taylor Made Dreams enables children with life limiting illnesses to achieve their dreams through multiple services: Bucket list wishes, holistic therapy, counselling, travel grants, medical sheepskin fleeces, photo experiences, dragonfly pendant, sibling support service and a technology library.

Story

After experiencing a serious motorbike accident in May 2023, after my recovery, I felt that I wanted to "give something back" after receiving such wonderful support and service from the NHS. I am currently still recovering from a broken sternum, broken back and collar bone, and a punctured lung, so what may appear to some as a fairly "easy" challenge event, is actually a huge mountain I have to climb in terms of acheiving this target.

Taylor-Made Dreams is an amazing local children's charity who support children with life limiting illnesses and fulfil their "bucket list wishes" and make their dreams come true.

I have personal first hand experience of how powerful having a dream come true is, so I deeply relate to what TMD aim to do in terms of making dreams come true.

When deciding on which chairty to give back too, my close friends cast their votes on a number of charities my event could support, and Taylor-Made Dreams was the top vote.

This year, throughout 2025 I will be swimming the equivilent of 5 x marathons (Edinburgh, London, Brighton, Manchester, and Eryri) which is a grand total of 131 miles! With a target of approximately 3 miles a week, I have started this challenge on January 14th, and will be finishing in December 2025.

ANY support and donations you can make to my challenge event will be gratefully received, all going towards dream fulfilment of deserving children with a life limiting illness.

Thank you!
